YouTube: Ways to Find Career Information
YouTube can be one place to look for information when exploring careers.
For example, you may find videos where people talk about what they do for a living, explain a particular career, discuss skills needed for a job, or provide career-related advice.
Here are a couple of ways to find career information on YouTube.
Look for Playlists
Some YouTube channels organize their videos into playlists around particular topics.
When visiting a YouTube channel, look to see if the channel has a Playlists section. If it does, you may find groups of videos organized around subjects such as careers, job searching, interviewing, education, or other topics.
A playlist can be helpful because someone has already grouped several videos about a similar subject together.
Search Within a YouTube Channel
You may also be able to search for videos within a particular YouTube channel.
Look for a magnifying-glass search icon on the channel. Select the search icon and type words related to the topic you want to find.
For example, suppose you find a YouTube channel that provides career information and you are interested in learning about accounting. You could search that channel using a word such as “accountant” or “accounting.”
If the channel has videos related to your search, this can help you find them without having to look through every video on the channel.
YouTube has information on different career topics. You can often find career information on playlists and search for information.
